This picture is one of my favorites! Ever since I can remember studying about WWII this image is what pops in my head. Obviously it highlights the role women played in the past, but can still be relevant in todays time.
This picture relates to class, because as we cover more and more material there is a slight change. I feel like we are seeing women play a bigger role in the social problems. Today here we are in 2015 and women and fighting sometimes more then men when it comes to expressing our thoughts on issues.
Last class we were in charge of making a protest and made the blueprints as if we were actually going to take action. My group focused on women and their fight with the media. With technology today we can make anyone or anything look "flawless." Women have to fight their hardest to look the best and feel great doing it. With the media pounding us with new beauty remedies and crash diets the pressure is on. With that being said I feel like today women are in the ultimate battle with themselves and their self-esteem. I hate to say it but I too find myself in this struggle, and hopefully soon women can take action of the problem. Just like the poster says "We can do it!"
Women are at least half of the population. Change in any area has to include us.
