Today when I think of celebrities and people in the arts I usually do not correlate them being associated with activism and world troubles that we face.  One figure that really does stick out to me, and I look up to is Angelina Jolie.  Not only does she look beautiful from the outside, but she does some pretty beautiful things.  Some organizations that she supports are UNICEF, ONE campaign, and UNHCR.

She also travels and goes out to see sights where some of these uncertainties lie in different countries which makes me support her and her work even more.  In some cases she even adopted children from these countries.  I think it's great that she took her fame and power and applied it to a whole new part of her life.  Whether we like to admit it or not celebrities make a huge impact in our world from the movies we watch, clothes we wear, and decisions we make.

Angelina relates to our classroom and content we look at, because she expresses her power to get an idea across.  She reminds me of Mother Courage from an earlier piece we looked at, because they both wanted good around, but sometimes with the conditions we are given good can not always come out.  As long as power is used to better our world I support it one-hundred percent, and in this case Angelina Jolie has my vote.
