Today we have created a whole new form of communication. That is our obsession with texting. It has created a faster, easier, and more convenient way to transfer messages efficiently. As more and more research come out we seem to be facing some major disadvantages that will soon be coming our way.
I find that for our class purposes, the idea of texting can be beneficial. For example, a lot of the material that we have been looking at dates back to a whole other communication style. I think it would be neat to incorporate some of the new ways that we communicate with one another into a final performance.
That final performance can be a Charles Mee influenced act. With narration of text messages the audience will be informed how everything is intended to be portrayed. The use of emojis would also be a cool way to express emotions throughout the piece. Charles Mee is known for not creating strong relationships within the characters and this would be a plus when it comes to texting. I find that today people steer away from personal phone calls because it is becoming too personal and text messages replace that with an informal typed message.
Interesting. I think this idea could really be interesting in performance.
